Athanasios Polychronopoulos (herein referred to as "Alphabet") has taken down the latest $1 500 NL tournament. Canadian Simon Charette made a good run of it, coming just short in 2nd place. Winnipeg was well represented in this one by Josh Tharayil who went out in 69th. If you know this dude, hit 'em up for a drink - he can afford it.

Antonin Teisseire has taken down the Triple Chance No-Limit bracelet in the name of France. It is the third bracelet won by the french this year. In 59th place was Norway's Johnny Lodden, of "Lodden Thinks" fame. This is the game made popular during the WSOPE by Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari where 2 players bet on what the third player's answer will be.

This one was a pretty cool story. David Singontiko worked for his father and saved for months to play in the WSOP. Then he goes out and wins the first event he ever entered. Canadian Michael Lee was looking like a third place finisher until a big hand developed between the two big stacks. After the dust cleared Lee had moved up a spot and almost $60 000 more in cash.

Matt Matros has won his second ever WSOP bracelet. He had come close to the final table in a couple of events this year but hadn't been able to close the deal. In this one, he had to best his good friend Matt Hawrilenko who ended up finishing in third place, before he knocked out Jonathan Lane to take the title.

Congratulations to Marsha Wolak, winner of this year's ladies event. The top Canadian was Gloutnez Genevine in 8th - one spot better than the last remaining dude that was ignorant enough to enter the women's only tournament. Crystal Sloan-Wallace of Winnipeg had a great finish in 36th place -I think she needs to play the Main Event - 36th would pay an awful lot in that one!
