5                    What is your favourite personal poker moment? Memorable moment was when Kirby kept Drawing out to win the hand on the river....this happened at least five times in one tournament and I was tilting so bad Guarino kept telling me to go home because I was getting crabby...some people don't understand...better moment in this tournament was when I BEAT her to take first place...take that Marion!

Pass The Dip Profile: The Crantini Kid

THE CRANTINI KID

1                    What is your nickname? Crantini Kid.  It is also my real name.  Mom calls me Cran.
2                    How long have you been playing poker? I started playing 5-card draw at about 10 years of age, with a video game called Strip Poker for my Commodore 64.  I was pretty good at getting those virtual ladies naked.  Of course, all you really had to do was bet/raise the max, then draw only 1 or 2 cards, and eventually she'd fold.  That's the origin of my mad bluffing skills.  As I got older, my tastes turned to real opponents, and I finally found this crazy group of degenerate gamblers around 2003.  Since then, I've donated a pile of cash to try to help them improve their skills so that one day they might be able to really challenge me.
3                    Do you prefer cash games or tournaments (and what type?) I'm mainly a cash game player.  It's much easier to lose large sums of money in smaller periods of time, which is where I excel.  Plus it's better action.  Of course there's reckless moments, but most of the time there is real poker being played.  Just not by me.  Tournaments can be fun too, but the action gets downright stupid at times.
4                    What is your favourite hand? A-10 off-suit.  It never loses.  Ever.  It simply can't be beaten.  Except when I'm holding it.
5                    What is your favorite personal poker moment? Tough question.  It's the crappy moments that always stick out in my mind.  Llike losing a $130 tournament at the Plaza in Vegas when some donkey pushes all in pre-flop under the gun with 7-3 off-suit, and I look down to see pocket aces.  He had me just barely covered, and the board handed him two 3's and a 7.  After that, I got my revenge by getting really, really, really drunk and playing the most aggressive, craziest, stupid cash game poker I've ever played in my life, causing me to lose my entire bankroll for the trip.  Oh, and that was only the first night there.  Which leads me to  my personal favourite poker moment, which is the next day, when I sat at that same cash table and played a solid 8 hours of the most focused, most intelligent poker of my life, and managed to recover every penny I had lost the night before.  Then Clayton got offended because an old geezer at the table wouldn't "cheers" him, so we all cashed out in protest.  Classic Vegas.
6                    At our game, who would you most like to
a.       Felt? Nat X.  His money tastes so good.
b.      Slow roll? I don't roll like that...... But if I did, I'd totally slow roll Gepeddo.
c.       Lose a pot to (if you had to)? Clayton.  I never mind handing him my chips, because the man just plain outplays me.  I hand him a lot of chips.  A lot.
7                    Tell a memorable / funny moment you witnessed at the home game. I fell asleep at the table once.  I guess I didn't actually witness that, so it doesn't count.  It's been so long since I've been to the home game, the memories are all fuzzy.  I guess I'll have to come out sometime and make new ones.

Pass The Dip Profile: Big Stack Bobby Allen

BIG STACK BOBBY ALLEN

1                    What is your nickname? Big Stack
2                    How long have you been playing poker? I started playing cards when I was about 12 with friends back home.  I got all the guys into many forms of poker when we used to go on hockey tournaments.  Made the long bus trips a lot more enjoyable.  We played games such as Jacks or better, High Chicago, pass the ace, kings and little ones, guts, in between, draw poker, and of course texas hold’em (we called it rounders because we we knew it from the movie and it just stuck.)
3                    Do you prefer cash games or tournaments (and what type?) I enjoy both but the feeling of taking down a long tourney outweighs a big night at the cash game.  Not much beats sitting down at the cash game in Vegas though.
4                    What is your favourite hand? My favorite hand is A,9 any suit.  I will play it more often than I should.
5                    What is your favorite personal poker moment? One of my favorite poker moments was sitting down for a 20 hour session with Nathan at the mirage and still being able to cash out with a positive number after many drinks.  Winning the main event this last year for my first bracelet was also up there.
6                    At our game, who would you most like to
a.       Felt? Schneider because chances are it means I played the hand well.
b.      Slow roll? No question its LEMON,  Its coming to, just wait.
c.       Lose a pot to (if you had to)?  No one, but if I had to pick I suppose it would be Dandy, his game has come along way and he is way to nice to be a good poker player.
7                    Tell a memorable / funny moment you witnessed at the home game.  Listening to Lemons rants is always good for a laugh,  watching Lemon and Sheldon go head to head in a huge pot where they both played like donkeys and then both tried to justify it was funny.  The night Hunter took home Hodgson’s shoes was funny because they both complained that the others guys shoes were horrible.  Lots of laughs that night.  I believe that was the night the cheeseburger was introduced as well.

Pass The Dip Profile: Nat X

NAT X

  1. What is your nickname?  X, Nat X
  2. How long have you been playing poker?  5 years
  3. Do you prefer cash games or tournaments (and what type?) Cash and I'm Hellmuthian in my love for no-limit hold 'em
  4. What is your favorite hand?  Aces of course (unless Funk has deuce five of diamonds)
  5. What is your favourite personal poker moment?  Winning the cold deck was pretty awesome, especially after Bobby made it VERY apparent he wanted me heads up.  Also, being able to make big calls without having the nuts.  Just natural part of my maturation as a player but it's still cool when you call someone down with ace high and are good.
  6. At our game, who would you most like to
      1. Felt?  Lemon or Harvey
      2. Slow roll?   Harvey, I think he'd be most set off by it
      3. Lose a pot to (if you had to)?  Probably Dandy, that way I know it's coming back eventually
  7. Tell a memorable / funny moment you witnessed at the home game. There are a lot.  Favourite moments - I love when Co goes on tilt o whirl and just jams it all in the middle blind.  Favourite comment - I love Lemon's "how else could I play that???" (after jamming all-in and betting 5x the pot with a draw)

Pass The Dip Player Profile: KRAMP

A regular feature I will be posting is the "Pass The Dip Player Profile" ("Player Profiles"under labels).  Our first player to be profiled is;

KRAMP

  1. What is your nickname?  I've been called Kramp, Krampster and Krafty....I prefer Krampstar!
  2. How long have you been playing poker?  I've been playing poker for about 3 years.
  3. Do you prefer cash games or tournaments (and what type?)  I prefer tournaments…texas hold’em no limit. Depending on the cash game I sometimes really like playing cash. My favourite cash game is our home game. My least favourite  cash game is the casino.
  4. What is your favorite hand?  I don’t really have a favourite hand other than AA I suppose. I try not to play favourites because I hate being superstitious. If I had to say a hand that I play more often than I should it’s probably J10.
  5. What is your favorite personal poker moment?  My favourite poker moment is any time I win a big pot.
  6. At our game, who would you most like to
      1. Felt?  Clayton without a doubt!
      2. Slow roll?   Nobody I hate slowrolling, however, if someone was being a jerk to me then I would, but nobody at our game has done that.
      3. Lose a pot to (if you had to)?  If I had to lose a pot it would be to the most humble, which is myself……however, it would be weird losing a hand to yourself……so I would say co or dandy.
  7. Tell a memorable / funny moment you witnessed at the home game. Most memorable moment was watching lemon and sheldon perform the most ridiculous hand that I have ever seen…….sheldon calling lemon’s all in with A high in a pot that was about 600 dollars…….crappy thing was that I ACTUALLY HAD A HAND AND FOLDED TO THEIR AGGRESION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
