Tournament Blind Structure Calculator

When planning a tournament, I generally make my own structures based on the time I'd like the tournament to last, the number of players and the chips in play.

I was looking to get a fresh perspective on tournament structures and came across pokersoup.com.  They have a "Blind Structure Calculator" that I've used a couple of times.  You can set up any type of tournament by typing in what you want out of the tournament and what you have for chips.  It then spits out a structure sheet, and they even offer it to you in a printer friendly version.

It is very easy to use, so if you are holding a home game and want a professional structure, rather than "Double the blinds every 10 minutes" then check out the link below.

Poker Decor

Everyone loves a good man-cave and every good man-cave needs man stuff on the walls.  If you have manly aspirations but your walls are bare, I've got a great site for you.

This site has a lot of really cool things to browse through to personalize your man-space.  The have a large selection of Poker "art" (wood / tin / pictures / posters / metal wall sculptures / framed memorabilia).  The wood signs are particularly cool and most of them you can customize with the name of your man-cave.  They also have apparel that you can lounge around in as you eat your wings, drink your beer and scratch your butt.

I have not ordered anything from this site yet, but I am really hoping that one of you buy me a a present from this store to add a little more poker charm to the Pass The Dip poker pit.  (Let's face it, it's really Brain Kramp's money that you'd be spending on me...)

Here are a few of the many items High Hand Designs sell;

Looking to buy / Looking to sell

I know of someone wanting to buy a second hand poker table if anyone has one kicking around collecting dust.

I also have chairs for sale - I previously posted about them and had a little interest, but no takers, so I've changed the price and am selling them $3 a piece or $40 for the lot.  Here is the previous posting with the updated price:

With the purchase of new chairs for our poker game, I now have 18 chairs for sale.  Some of them have almost never been used while a few of them have small rips in the vinyl or the seat slants forward.  I am looking to sell the lot for $40.  If I don't get any offers for the lot, I will be willing to sell them by piece.  E-mail me or comment below if you are interested.

Imagine yourself sitting in this very chair.  It doesn't have to be just a crazy fantasy...

COPAG plastic cards (and more)

If you've played much poker, you've come to love the playability of plastic cards over the regular old paper cards.  They last a long time, they are easy to shuffle, they can be washed - seriously!

At our home game I exclusively use COPAG cards.  I've always been impressed with the quality and variety of the cards they make.

Generally I buy "poker - regular" cards, but you can get them with the jumbo index or in the bridge size.   COPAG sells most of their cards as sets of two for $15.95 (USD).  Below are a sample of card backs that COPAG offers.

POKER - REGULAR

4 COLOUR DECKS

BRIDGE - JUMBO INDEX

MAGNUM INDEX

Besides cards, COPAG also carries a number of other items;

Odds Calculator

Here is a link to the cardplayer.com odds calculator for both texas hold em and omaha.

It has settled an occasional bet, but more likely you will use it to back up your bad beat story.

It is very easy to use and considered one of the best programs out there for quickly figuring out poker odds.

Poker Table For Sale

I have a friend that has a poker table for sale.  Below are the pictures.  I don't know how much he is asking, but I'm sure any fair offer would do.  If you are interested let me know and I'll put you in touch with the seller.

It is a perfect design for a smaller space.

If you are interested, challenge yourself to win enough to buy this table at our next home game.  Be sure to let me know, so I can give you action!

Consider this offer tabled.

My Favourite Store

My favourite man-caveish store is AVO Recreation at 619 Ferry Road.

They deal with all items related to Pool / Billiards, Ping Pong, Darts, Air Hockey, Foosball and Shuffleboard.  Oh yeah, and poker.

I've bought 3 poker tables over the years from them and currently they range from $299 to $1799.  They also carry decent poker table top designs for $89 and $159.

They also carry a variety of pretty cool poker chips, timers, buttons, cards (Copag and Gemaco), chip trays, card markers and other poker related items.  The service is great and if you need something, just ask and I'm sure they can work something out for you.

AVO has an on-line catalog that list a lot, but not all of their products.  Here is the link to their web site;
