Joe Hachem (2005 Main Event Champion) made a nice run in this one but couldn't finish as he made a respectable run to 12th place. In the end it was Mitch Schock that took the bracelet home with bragging rights and a pocket full of benjamins.

Matt Jarvis has taken down another gold bracelet for Canada. You may recall that he was one of last year's "november nine". Canada was well represented by some kid with a Main Event bracelet named Jonathan Duhamel who finished in 15th and Daniel Negreanu who finished in 20th. This was a very tough field with all sorts of poker pros littering the money list in this one.

Congratulations to Justin Pechie who now is the proud owner of a WSOP bracelet. Of note - Big Stack Bobby's nemisis JJ Liu finished one spot out of the final table. Her wrist couldn't handle another bracelet anyway.

In like a lion, but out like a Lamb! Ben Lamb takes down the PLO Championship and along with the bracelet he is now atop the 2011 WSOP player of the year standings. Harry Potter scarf wearer, Dario Alioto made it to 5th spot before the muggles got to him.
Event #43: No Limit Hold'em

Reportedly this was one of the most memorable tournaments ever at the WSOP. Brazilian pro Andre Akkari had 50 plus Brazilians on the rail as well as others who hopped on the bandwagon to watch him take down his very first WSOP bracelet. He is said to always have a smile on his face and never has a bad word to say about anyone. He has never met Brain Kramp, so until that meeting happens, his remarkable demeanour will have to stand with an asterisk.
Winnipeg was represented with a cash finish (albeit a min cash) by Joe Macek. Congratulations Joe!

Rep Porter makes the front page of the WSOP website for taking down his 2nd ever WSOP bracelet. I'm not sure if winning at razz where the worst hand wins means you are a good player or a bad player, but this guy cashes like a swiss watch, so I'll give him his due credit. Tinted TV poker personality Robert Williamson III finished in 4th and other pros like Victor Ramdin (16th), Chad Brown (19th), David Skalansky (21st), Chau Giang (25th) and punch in the face finalist Shawn Sheikhan all had decent showings.
Event #45: No Limit Hold'em

Peter and Lois must be proud. Kenneth Griffin has taken down the $1 000 donkament, fading a field that had a number of pros trying to make something happen in the late stages of this year's WSOP. Antonio Esfandiari had a magical run (it hurts my fingers to type such lame references to his past) and disappeared in 7th. Canadian Johnathon Driscoll had his 3rd cash this year in 11th place and Phil Hellmuth picked up a few more player of the year points by making it to the 28th spot.
Winnipeg was again represented as Jonathan Zaczek made his first WSOP cash by placing 56th.

Joe Ebanks has finished atop of the heap in the No Limt Hold'em / 6 Handed Championship. 2 bracelet winners from this year's WSOP, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier and Ben Lamb were both in contention late in Day 3 and were looking not only for another bracelet, but valuable points in the player of the year competition. Grospellier made it to 3rd and Lamb's day finished much earlier when he was sent packing in 12th. 2009 Main Event winner Joe Cada finished in 26th, this being his 2nd cash of the 2011 WSOP.
