From the Vault - October 30th, 2008 - 2008 WSOD Event 4 - Razz

Another "From the Vault entry from 2008.  In honour of my recent posting for the rules of Razz, I am giving you a few pictures from our first and only Razz tournament and the cash game that followed.

I vividly remember that Big Stack had this mildly entertained look on his face the entire game, which I've never seen him do at poker before or after.

I expected a little more RAZZle-Dazzle out of Bridesmaid Bobby.

X brought his own abacus - now you know why his math is usually off
This is an abacus that hasn't been smashed around like X's

Yeah the card is from the bottom, what's the big deal?

Mike knows he is the front runner for any game where the worst hand wins.

Spanky took a deep breath, and blew it.

The 3 best of the worst.

It looks like my 2 chips are just enough for the toll on Mike's Great Wall of China-chips.

Whoever took this picture is cut off.

Mike wins Razz - Everything in the world is right again!

X is a shadowy figure.

I don't seem to recall why there are 18 chips on the table between all the players.  Strange indeed.  Hordyk must have a huge stack hidden behind Joffa, although it is unlikely...
Well the cash game was kind of smallish but did get bigger once the tournament finished, although I stopped taking pictures at this point.  The tournament was fun and happens to be the only stud game that we've played in the WSOD to date, although we will try and add another one very soon.

I hope you enjoyed the blast from the past...

Sin City Six - Our 2008 On-line Tournament Series

Back in early 2008, Mike Bakeman started a weekly series of on-line tournaments for our home game players.

Tournament Name:Sin City Six

Buyin:$14 + $1
Game:No-limit Hold'em
Password: 696969
Date: Every Wednesday starting Feb 20/08
Time: 11:00 PM (ET) keep in mind that this tournament will start 10:00 our time.

These tournaments only lasted about 3 months.  The first 2 1/2 months we had between 10 and 13 players, but then as a few dropped off, the domino effect took hold.  It was a pretty fun idea that might've  taken hold better if we weren't so full of shift workers amongst our players.

I imagine that some players also had trouble keeping their bankroll on-line between the tournaments...

Our final game was on May 14, 2008 and with 3 players, it lasted a whopping 11 minutes - Nigel Martin stands as the last Sin City Six tournament winner.

11 minutes of heart wrenching action

Here are some screen shots from some of the other action;

Straight flush baby!

Of course I'll add a screen shot of a tourney I won...

The bright lights of the final table weren't hard to make in our tournament series

From the Vault - July 8th, 2008

Here is another "From The Vault" entry from 2008.  Besides a couple of faces, these could be from 2011.
The Crantini Kid giggles because he is sitting in Harvey's lap (that explains the chips doesn't it?)
Aces jacked this pot on the river!
K-Diddy does the Harlem shuffle

You can tell Tucker didn't flop a Royal Flush because he didn't open shove all in.

I have a feeling nobody has any idea what is going on in this hand.

From the Vault - April 15th, 2008

In 2008, our Pass The Dip poker game stepped up a notch.  We started the World Series of Dip including the Cold Deck Classic and we started our now defunct original web site, thanks to the Crantini Kid.  Because of all these things, our attendance grew and we started taking pictures every game for the web site.  Below are pictures from the April 15th, 2008 game.

Dandy was just cutting his chops with us back in 2008.  Still is.  First 3 sessions, he thought we were playing old maid and lost only once.

The Dolphin and the Terrier and the Fish

A rare non-texting picture of K-Diddy

Dumb and Dumbererer

Nat X doing something weird with his face.  It looks like his "I was ahead, you sucked out on the turn and justice was served on the river", post flop look.

T-Mart trying to will the cards to change.  In 2008 she probably played them anyway...

Someone looks up to Lemon?

1 of 4.  I think if I remember this hand right, there big rereraising pre flop and X and T-Mart see the flop.  By the way look at T-Mart's levitation trick - never mess with someone who can float a chip, you are in over your head.

2 of 4.  X pushes in, T-Mart calls

3 of 4.  There isn't much like a nice pile of chips sliding your way.  So pretty, so money.  So not going in my direction this night.

4 of 4.  I believe X had something like AQ suited, and T-Mart sucks out on the river, when her kicker paired.  Any spade would've done it though...

I remember that tell, wish he still used it!

Ummm, where did Ward's chips go?  And he still looks maniacal

Don't mistake the lightbulb for a bright idea.  I'm sure you wouldn't have...

I remember this vividly - X and BSB lost it, absolutely lost it.  The next day, neither hand any idea what they were laughing at

Wait for it....

BAM! ohhhhh  Queens hold up, so disappointing!

Sick hand # 1 - I believe we were playing the 7/3 offsuit bonus this night so playing 7/2 offsuit was ridonkulous.  A22 flopped, 2 turned and a monster turns to mud

Sick hand #2

Three "Alpha" males

Look at Tom's stack.  He hit and ran and never came back!  Joffa is obviously on his 12th re-buy which was par for the course

The last web site was pretty much just a vehicle for Nat X and I to make unrelenting fun of each other and occasionally everybody else

If you never saw what the old web site looked like, Nathan is happy to show you

I'd be smiling too if they trusted me with the internet at work

Nat X chuckles as someone actually suggests he do something work related
