On-Line Poker Banned in the USA

On-line poker players in the USA had their version of Black Friday yesterday when the big three American sites were hit with a number of charges by the federal government.

At this time it appears that American on-line poker players are blocked from playing on Full Tilt, Poker Stars and Absolute Poker (Ultimate Bet).

Kramp - thanks for the comment in an earlier post about this. Knowing my love of poker, several people showed me articles in the local papers today reporting this development as well.

All this is a result of a sneaky amendment to a homeland security bill that was hardly noticed as it was added at the 12 hour, 5 years ago. Poker in the USA has been scrambling ever since. It's a shame that it all comes down to some politicking rather than a proper review of the facts!

So much for land of the free!!!

What's next? No more grannies allowed to knit on planes.....um - what's that? Oh sorry, apparently I'm behind the times, that was also banned 10 years ago...

At least you can still get free firearms when you open a new bank account...
